The Rosales kids. :P
Today, I met up with my secondary school ‘clique’ for mass at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. We were actually late for the mass. I think it was already the Prayers of the Faithful when we arrived. LOL. After the mass, we headed on to SM City Lipa for lunch. We had Karate Kid – a Japanese Fast Food chain here in the Philippines. Not bad actually. It was quite cheap. I had a beef dish thing (which is like some beef teriyaki thingy LOL) and a fruit punch (non-alcoholic that is) for only PhP122 which is around S$4! And take note, that was free flow of rice and the fruit punch! Hee hee. Cheap cheap cheap! :P
After lunch, we walked around the mall for a while before one of my friends said she had to buy some fruits for her mom. You see, here in the Philippines, we have this belief that during New Year’s Eve, you should prepare a feast and in the middle of the table, you must have some round fruits and you must have a variety of them. They say that it will bring good luck. Haha.
Anyway, her mom wanted her to buy some so 7 of us were tagging along inside the crowded supermarket to buy the stuff. After buying, I think we took around an hour to finish queuing up to pay for the things she bought. We managed to crap and talk a lot about ourselves and about our other batchmates. I was so shocked to hear some of my batchmates getting married, some pregnant, some already gave birth to 2 kids and the like. Times have really changed. They are going to graduate from the university! (Jealous! LOL) Soon, they will be working and earning money while I am still studying. Hmm. Not that I am complaining. Haha. Time just passes by so quickly. Things change.
After walking around the mall for a while (we were waiting for the heavy rain to stop) we then decided to pay our choir teacher a visit. As I mentioned before, most of my friends were in choir as well. So yeah, even though I was there only a few days ago, I joined them. She served us food again and it was good. Haha. Spent some time catching up again (that is what we normally do because we do not normally see each other). Although I spent most of the time listening to them and contemplating how fast things changed. It seems like it was just yesterday when we were innocent young Sec 1s and now, most of them are about to graduate and start working. Haha. Life.
I felt very happy that day. Sometimes, I do feel that I am quite distant from my friends already. Like sometimes, I feel that I can no longer relate to them like I did before. But this day was different. :)
And that night, my family had dinner and we were complete (except for my father who is in Saudi Arabia of course)! We had a good dinner and as part of our normal ‘rituals’, we would stay seated at the dining room even after eating and started talking. We were laughing our asses off at something which I can no longer remember. We were there for good 30 minutes or longer until we decided to move to the living room to watch TV. These are the things that I really miss about home. Eating and watching TV together, reminiscing about the things that we did when we were still young. Sigh. It is quite sad that I would have to leave for Singapore again soon. Oh well, I guess distance does make the heart grow fonder. I would say that my family (in my view) got closer together when I left for Singapore or maybe I just did not notice it before. Haha. I love them. :)
Let me introduce my siblings to you.
Christine Anne Rosales, 25. My eldest sister. She is my guide whenever I go to Manila alone. She works in an insurance company in Makati, Manila. She works near the Peninsula Manila which was the venue for the failed mutiny last November. She said it was not as scary. =X
Madeline Rosales, 24. My 2nd eldest sister. Our age gap is quite far but that does not mean that we are not close. I actually meet her more often because she works in a telecommunications company here in our province. I think she is the richest amongst all of us. LOL. She is quite generous too. Hee hee. She does know how to handle money and do business.
Ma. Angela Rosales, 18. My youngest sister. She is currently studying Nursing at the St. Augustine School of Nursing. I am sort of the 'closest' to her. She is the owner of the dog. Haha. Not sure of what she wants in life because it keeps on changing. She says that after she finishes Nursing, she wants to join the army. LOL =X
And of course, yours truly. The 'unico hijo' or the only son. Haha. I do not want to blab about myself here. I guess you would have known me by now. Haha.
The 4 of us plus my mom (Fely Ann - on the left wearing pink) and our maternal grandparents.
Us. Happy happy during Christmas. :)
We are supposed to look retarded. Haha.
One more time. :P
Ok, enough. Haha. :)
Alright, this entry is already long. Until next time! Toodles! :)
